About us
Everyone should get to pick what they fancy.
Not what's left, not what's safest, not the one option you already know works. Just the ordinary business of looking at what's on offer and choosing the thing you actually want, which most people have never once had to think about.
Traders are already doing more of the hard work here than they get credit for. What's missing isn't effort, it's being able to see any of it before you're standing at the counter with a queue behind you.

Hi, we're Jess and Ben
Ben has a peanut allergy. He was five the first time it nearly went badly wrong. Two sandwiches sitting next to each other on a plate, and only one of them had peanut butter in it. That was enough.
His sister's allergy is more serious than his, and she's vegan too, so a day out has always meant phone calls ahead, labels read twice, and a packed lunch in the bag just in case. Jess has seen her mum with same struggle when eating out because she has to avoid gluten.
Events and markets are the places where its the hardest to find food because written information is typically hidden behind the counter. That's why we've built tastebud, to make it easy to find the food that you're craving, and fits your dietary needs.
What that looks like in practice
A quick look at what we've built so far, and where it's going.

Who we are
Ben's a product manager, which mostly means noticing where something quietly breaks down and building a proper fix rather than a workaround. Jess is a user researcher, so her first instinct is to go and ask the person living the problem before deciding what the answer should be.
We've spent years pointing those skills at other people's problems. This is the first time we've turned them on our own, which is probably why we care about it more than is entirely sensible.
