TASTEBUDOFFICIAL LTD ("Tastebud") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the Tastebud app and website, why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you have.

2. What Data We Collect and Why
Name and email address - to create and manage your account. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
Allergen and dietary preferences (e.g. nut allergy, vegan, gluten-free) - to personalise vendor and dish results. Lawful basis: your explicit consent. This is special category health data under UK GDPR Article 9. You can withdraw consent and delete this data at any time.
App usage data (pages visited, features used, session duration) - to understand how the app is used and improve the service. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
Device and technical data (IP address, browser type, OS) - for security and diagnosing technical issues. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
Communications you send us - to respond to your enquiries. Lawful basis: performance of a contract or legitimate interests.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your personal data to provide and operate the Tastebud app; personalise results based on your allergen and dietary preferences; manage your account; improve the platform through analysis of anonymised usage data; keep the platform secure; and meet our legal obligations.
We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces significant effects on you.
4. Who We Share Your Data With
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following service providers, all bound by appropriate data processing agreements:
Render - cloud hosting (EU, Germany)
Cloudinary - image storage and delivery (USA; Standard Contractual Clauses apply)
Google Analytics - anonymised usage analytics (USA; Standard Contractual Clauses apply)
We may also disclose data where required by law or court order.
5. International Data Transfers
Some of our third-party service providers (Cloudinary, Google Analytics) are based outside the UK. Where data is transferred outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the ICO. Our core hosting infrastructure (Render) is located in the EU.
6. How Long We Keep Your Data
We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain certain records.
Anonymised and aggregated usage data may be retained indefinitely for product development purposes.
7. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to: access your data; correct inaccurate data; delete your data; receive your data in a portable format; restrict processing; object to processing based on legitimate interests; and withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

8. Cookies and Tracking
The Tastebud website uses cookies to keep you logged in and to collect anonymised analytics via Google Analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings. A full Cookie Policy will be published at tastebud.app once the consent management mechanism is in place.
9. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction, including encrypted storage, access controls, and secure communications.
In the event of a data breach likely to risk your rights and freedoms, we will notify the ICO within 72 hours and, where required, notify affected users without undue delay.
10. Children's Data
Tastebud is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. Contact us at info@tastebudofficial.co.uk if you believe we have done so inadvertently.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Where changes are material, we will notify you by email or by a prominent notice in the app before they take effect.
